Marc-Alexandre Dumoulin is the guest artist at Villa Arnica in 2024. With his painting, he persistently searches for the unfathomable, where the surface of the canvas becomes an excavation site, a place where he digs deeper and deeper until the image comes to the surface. Dumoulin's paintings, drawings, and etchings are thoughts that reveal their complexity through the sensual connection of colors, themes, and formats.

Dumoulin studied painting at Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London, UK. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where he lives and works.
