„Anima Periferica“ is a photographic journey through various peripheral areas of Italy – the so-called aree periferiche ed ultraperiferiche – far from the major urban centers.

The project explores the aesthetic and social dimensions of the periphery and seeks the remote, the existence of what is found where seemingly "nothing" is.

At the former Piazzi store in Niederlana, the photographs from Federico Campana in Emilia-Romagna and the poetic-narrative texts by Cornelia Schöpf reflect on what happens to public space when it loses its basic structures – shops and businesses.
